Semester’s End

December 5, 2009 § Leave a comment

I am midway through my final two weeks of the semester, and things are both stressful and calming significantly. The past week, just back from Thanksgiving, was a bit frantic, but I have this entire weekend to finish projects for next week, and things are going well. No matter how much I may complain about the workload, I have no such complaints about the subject matter. Every day I am reminded that library school is exactly the right place for me.

In other news, the weather is finally turning toward winter for good, it seems. After the bizarre near-70s a few days ago, the temperature has gone sharply colder and we’re expecting snow tonight. I’m quite excited about this, because I like having four distinct seasons. Also, Boston is so far beautiful with Christmas lights, and I bet it’s even better in snow.

I’m preparing to spend two weeks in Iowa after the semester ends, and I’m looking forward to being back. I have experienced no real homesickness yet, and I don’t expect to. Boston has been such a perfect fit from the start, and I love it more every day. If there wasn’t such a saturation of librarians and archivists out here, I suspect I’d never leave.

Where Am I?
